All -
In the past month we have had to VM Guests hosted by two different VMWare Servers running v1.0 and v1.0.2.
The VM guests exhibit Event ID 11 and Event ID 15.
Event ID 11: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0.
Event ID 15: The device, \Device\Scsi\symmpi1, is not ready for access yet.
Essentially what happened in both cases is the VM Guests were unresponsive so I had to kill the vmware processes running them. When they came back online I checked the event log and noticed that it was filled with these events. I have read the posts that indicate that the wrong driver was selected for the SCSI controller, however, both VM Guests are running with the LSI Logic PCI-X Ultra320 SCSI Host Adapter.
I have also investigated hardware issues because the VMServer logs and they both show Event ID 9:
The device, \Device\Scsi\cpqcissm1, did not respond within the timeout period.
Anyone know what I need to do to resolve this? I don't want any more VM Guests to hang.
