I am running into a problem where DHCP is not working in my guest VMs. I am running VMWare Server 1.0.4 on a Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 system with SP2. If I manually configure my guests with a static IP address everything works, this confirms that the bridge is setup properly and I'm not having a problem with port security on the switch. I have disabled TCP offload on my host system.
The physical server is an HP Proliant DL380 G5 server. It has two broadcom based NICs in it (the built-in ones). They are teamed together using LACP to create a single interface (primarily for redundancy). I have tried disabling the various offload/acceleration options (Receive-side scaling, RX/TX TCP and IP checksum offload, and large send offload). It still doesn't work. The DHCP server is not on this server. It is located on another physical box. Any suggestions?
