I have two servers running vmware server, hosting 2 VM's each.
Both host servers are Dell Poweredge 2850's with dual 2.8Ghz Xeon (hyperthreaded), with 3Gb RAM, running Windows 2003 Server EE x32 SP1. Both are running VMWare Server 1.0.3 running 2 VM's. The VM's are Server 2003 EE x32 SP1 also.
Both HOSTS are domain controllers/dns servers. On each host one VM is a domain controller/dns server.
I have noticed that on each host, the SVCHOST.exe process will after a few days use >1Gb RAM. A reboot removes this, svchost returns to using a 'normal' amount of ram, 10-20Mb. The VM DC's do not display this behaviour, only the physical hosts.
None of the VM's are high on cpu, disk or network utilization, nor the physical hosts.
Has anyone else noticed this?
