CLI;HLT poweroff Win2k Server

Hi there,

I have a Windows 2000 Server running inside VMware Server 1.0.8. It is set to automatically reboot should a kernel panic (i.e. BSOD) occur.

Now, I have a very strange situation; when my virus scanner updates, the machine most of the time crashes (moments after the update completes).

This has only been happening for a few weeks and has worked for years before....

I am attaching my debug log, however what happens is a CLI;HLT. I wonder however why VMware puts the machine in poweroff mode immediately. Windows does not shutdown correctly, not reboot either (though it is set to do so on a BSOD), no administrative alert is issued, nothing.

I am attaching some (debug) logs, maybe someone can explain what is going on.
