Hiding the VMware computer type

For testing purposes I attempted to use a setup HD designed for a specific brand of PCs on a Virtual Machine. the installation starts but stops as soon as the setup program recognizes a VMware emulated HW instead of a PC manufactured by the specific brand.

Is there any way to "mask" VMware and to make the VM look like a PC manufactured by a specific brand?
