We cannot start the VMware Server recently. The software is installed in two back up server.
Both of them asking for the host name, username and password. An error message "there was a problem connecting: Cannot connect to host <hostip>: No Connection could be made bacuse the target machine actively refused it."
When I checked the Windows Service, all the vmware apps are started except Vmware Authentivation Service and Registration Service. I tried starting them but error again.
In the event log, it said "The description for Event ID(100) in source 9vmauthd) cannot be found. The local computer ,ay not have the necessay reditry informaiotn or message DDL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following info is part of the event: Could not reset '___vmware_user__' password. Aborting (net error:2221)"
Both servers are Win2000 SP4. I have restarted the servers, no luck. The server can access the host computer via IE and shared folders.
Please point me to right solution. ?:|
