Greetings, I've been attempting to resolve a problem for serveral weeks with Delayed Write Errors occuring on my guest OS (W2K3 64bit) when attempting to backup a large file (3-4GB) to a network share on the host OS (W2K3 64bit). The exact error message is as follows:

I've seen other reports of this problem on various communities with no firm resolution. The error (as I understand it) suggests a problem at the physical layer such as speed/duplex settings or a bad cable. The latter is obviously not likely since this is a virtual server, however I've checked the switch port interface anyway which reveals no errors. I've also tried locking down my speed/duplex settings on both the guest and host per others suggestions which has not resolved the issue. I found one thread that actually suggested the problem might be related to a particulator CD-ROM drive so I tried disabling the CD-ROM for the guest OS too to no avail. Another suggestion was to disable TCP chimney on the host OS but this feature is not enabled. I really need to resolve this problem as not only does the backup file transfer fail, but the NIC on the guest OS is rendered unusable and I have to disable/renable to restore connectivity to my guest OS. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
I'm running VMware Server version 1.0.4.
