VMWare Bridge Protocol Missing or Not running

I have a new server that I'm trying to setup VMServer 1.0.4 on a Windows 2003 Host SP2 Patched. Installation seems to go well and I reboot. I can connect to the VMWare console and start a VMachine (aWindows 2003 VM). As soon as I do that, I get the message that the Bridge is not running on VMNet0 and that the VMachine will not be able to talk to the host or network (which it can't). I can change to NAT or another connection other than bridged and it works. But I cannot get the Bridged to work at all.

When I go into the Hosts Network configuration, I DO NOT see the VMWare Bridge Protocol listed. When I click add protocol, it is not in the available list.

I've tried to reinstall, remove and reinstall, to no avail.

I want to run 3 VMachines on this box (all with 2003 like BES and IIS for Intranet) I want them available on the network with their own IP address and my understanding is that the VSwitch is NOT an option in VMWare Server, like it is in the ESX product, so Bridged is my only option.

Question:

1) Is this the best way to deploy VMachines?

2) how do I add the VMWare Bridge Protocol to the physical network device in the host.

Ipconfig /all listed below.

Thanks
