Virtual device scsi0:1 will start disconnected

We started running low on host hard drive space, so I bought a new 500GB hard drive and added it to my server.  I moved my virtual machine to the new added drive.  When I fire up that virtual machine, it starts up fine, except for the fact that now all SCSI devices can't be accessed.  I have a SCSI dual host controller in the physical server attached to a tape library.  Before the move/installation of the new hard drive, everything connected fine and worked fine.  Now I get this message for every existing SCSI device upon boot up of the VM:

Virtual device scsi0:1: Unable to open host device "/dev/sg0": Insufficient permissions to access the file.  Please make sure the virtual device is configured to use Linux SCSI generic device (/dev/sg*), and that the physical device is functioning normally on the host.  Virtual device scsi0:1 will start disconnected.

The host server is running a Linux operating system.  Upon bootup, it detects all the SCSI hardware in the server and attached to the server, but the guest VM does not.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try in order to get it working again?
