Hi all. I've just installed VMware Server 1.0.4 on a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with 16 gig of RAM and a quad-core Xeon CPU. The host OS is SuSE Enterprise 10.
I've created a virtual machine with one CD-ROM, 3 gig of RAM, two processors, one bridged NIC, no floppy or sound devices, and installed Ubuntu 7.10 into it. It boots up fine and I can log in and start using it. But eventually, sometimes within minutes, the VM will become completely unresponsive. When I SSH into the host OS and run top, the vmware-vmx process is slamming two of the CPUs to 100% each.
This happens over and over again. Has anyone else had this problem and have any suggestions for what I can do to keep this from happening?
Thanks
