Network name is no longer available Win 2003 host/guest(s) on VMWare Server

Hello!

I get errors of "The specified network name is no longer available" which seem to correlate to other people's problems about large fast file copying between guest and host.

The errors come from my backup cycles, that by the nature deal with fast and huge file copying.

I read out, that this seems to solve the issue even on Win2003 environments:

However I don't find my adapters on the registry list; I have custom bridged VMnet 2 & 3 to my physical adapters and only see the virtual ones VMnet 1 & 8 on the registry.

I am using VMWare Server 1.0.1 with two separate GLAN NICs. I got these errors also on Virtual Server 2005 (but less, which I'd guess could be caused by the fact that Virtual Server allows only 100Mbit network).

I'll try to tweak out "LargeSendOffload" and alike options on the real physical network cards, but any advice on getting to tune the thing properly are warmly welcome :)!

Br,

Kalle
