I have a server that I am trying to promote from a 1 CPU to a 2 CPU server. However, since it is a critial server, I was wondering what the side-effects would be if I decided later on to demote this server from a 2 CPU to a 1 CPU server. I have seen in some of the posts that people have a few complaints when it comes to demoting the server back to a 1 CPU machine. But I am yet to discover what those complaints are.
I have already tested what would happen if i upgrade a server from a 1 CPU machine to a 2 CPU machine then demoting it, and the results were : NOTHING HAPPENED.
What are your expierences regarding demoting a server back from 2 CPU to 1 CPU ?
The machine is a windows server 2003 STD
