Hi Everyone
Just configured VMware server 1.0.2 in my ubuntu system and installed Windows XP on it and found a really strange problem with the Network configuration. I got windows XP system configured to use bridge connection but tried it aswell with the NAT option and the problem is basically the same.
The problem is that from the Windows system I can basically perform pings to whichever sites and hosts I want and it works , the DNS resolving is also working , nothing else is working !
So basically I can ping a site, the dns resolving resolves the ip correctly but then, I open my browser and it just ... fails to receive whatever. I can't use telnet neither nor FTP. all this on the Windows system. Example :

On my linux system ( the host) everything works fine.
So, my question is .... what am I missing ? ping and dns resolving works fine, normal tcp traffic is apparently not working. On my ubuntu host system I've got no firewall installed, and windows (guest) has its normal firewall thingy connected ( which I've disconnected aswell but didn't work neither) .
When using NAT the same happens.
